From Trauma to Triumph: Florida DeVaul-Dudley Journey of Healing & Empowerment

As a trauma survivor, Florida DeVaul-Dudley truly comprehends the anguish caused by such experiences. Encountering or witnessing distressing and emotionally intense situations can trigger a range of complex emotions, including fear, horror, numbness, or helplessness.

Because of her trauma and the freedom that she has walked through in her own healing journey, in 2014, Flo started a nonprofit organization for underserved victims and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Flo started Shining Light In Darkness (SLID) to provide education, support, and healing to survivors of interpersonal trauma. After working with survivors across the country, she vowed that Shining Light in Darkness would be a beacon of hope for victims and survivors in the field of trauma recovery. Still with a burning passion to want to do more and understanding that “everyone heals differently” Flo decided to further her education by becoming more trauma-informed in order to serve men, women, and children.

Now as a recognized expert in trauma recovery, through Florida Soars, it is Flo's deepest desire to help others that are currently dealing with the hidden pain of trauma of their past and present, because I know what that feels like.
