Empowering NC Women Entrepreneurs: Erica Vazquez’s Mission at WBCNC

Gender equality across every aspect of society is a fundamental human right and essential for our societies to be safe, prosperous and thrive. Unfortunately, women face economic, social and legal barriers to setting up and running their businesses such as access to capital, resources and a reliable support system. These factors mean women often run businesses in the most precarious and least lucrative industries, and stand to be disproportionately impacted by macroeconomic challenges.

The Women's Business Center of North Carolina led by Erica Vazquez, the Executive Director, strongly believes that women entrepreneurs of today are creating a better tomorrow for everyone. When women entrepreneurs succeed, they’re more likely to invest back into their families and community – into education, nutrition, wellbeing, and children’s health. Also, their businesses are more likely to provide necessary services and opportunities to their communities.

Hopefully after watching this episode you will understand for yourself how Erica and The Women's Business Center of North Carolina are on a mission to promote economic self sufficiency for all women in North Carolina through entrepreneurship. Clients have benefited from tools and support to establish their businesses, stabilize their companies, generate sustainable profits, strategize for future growth and contribute to the growth and economic development of their communities!
