Introducing Kramden: The Nonprofit Bridging The Digital Divide
Kramden's purpose is to connect North Carolinians in building digital equity by providing refurbished devices and technology education. Kramden's community includes:
- K-12 students without computers at home - Low-income adults lacking computer education - Nonprofits providing STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics)
One major initiative is 'digital literacy programming,' where volunteers assist individuals in understanding how to use computers. Workshops cover basics like turning on a computer and understanding its components. Participants receive a computer to take home after the four-day workshops!
