Women in Leadership: How ATHENA of the Triangle is Making a Difference
ATHENA of the Triangle is a regional, non-profit affiliate of ATHENA International that focuses on developing, supporting, and honoring women leaders in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill). Founded in 2014, the organization provides innovative programming, leadership development workshops, and networking events for both emerging and established female professionals and their allies!
The organization operates under the philosophy that competition happens at the bottom, and collaboration happens at the top. Led by Executive Director Dr. Tiamesha Walker-Smith and Board Chair Dr. Atoya Hodges , its initiatives center around The Eight Principles of Enlightened Leadership: live authentically, foster collaboration, learn constantly, build relationships, advocate fiercely, give back, act courageously and celebrate.
